What are lactic acid bacteria?
Lactic acid bacteria are a natural part of our intestinal flora. These benign, yet powerful, bacteria protect us against intruding bacteria and virus of hostile nature. The amount of lactic acid bacteria is negatively influenced by factors such as:

Resistant strain
Probiotic Pharma Nord contains two strains of lactic acid bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-2) and Bifidobacterium lactis (Bb-12), which have been freeze-dried and mixed with gel-forming polysaccarides that encapsulate the bacteria in an insoluble gel matrix. This matrix remains intact while passing through the low-pH environment of the human stomach, but as soon as the matrix reaches the duodenum, it dissolves, releasing its load of bacterial "warriors".
Better effect
Normally, a considerable amount of the lactic acid bacteria would be killed off by the low pH-value in the human stomach acid, but Probiotic's protective gel-matrix effectively prevents this from happening. This increases the survivability and, consequently, the efficacy of the preparation. Also, the fact that the lactic acid bacteria are released as far up as in the duodenum, where many pathogenic bacteria exist, improves their effect.
