The use of bone loss injections is a targeted treatment that stops bone-removing cells before they can reach and damage the bone. The most commonly prescribed medication is Denosumab.

Once you receive your prescription from your doctor or have it sent in by healthmail, visit your local McCabes Pharmacy where we can both dispense and administer your prescribed injection for you.

What is the cost?

The cost for administration of Denosumab Prolia™ injection is €30. You also pay for your prescription with your doctor as per usual.

What does the injection treat?

The bone loss injection is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal woman and in men at increased risk of fractures. It also is used for the treatment of bone loss associated with hormone ablation in men with prostate cancer at increased risk of fractures.

prescription.
