Cow & Gate Carobel Instant 135G

Cow & Gate Instant Carobel is a gelling or thickening agent that can be used for both breastfed and bottle-fed infants. It’s a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of habitual and recurrent vomiting and rumination. We do not recommend using Cow & Gate Instant Carobel with preterm or low birth weight infants as there is no clinical data available to support its use with these infants. Only to be used under medical supervision.

Ingredients:

Maltodextrin, locust bean gum, calcium carbonate, ferrous sulphate, zinc sulphate.

How to Use:

Infants: Cow and Gate Instant Carobel 135g may be added to an infant’s milk or drink (water/juice), or given by spoon as a thick gel just prior to drinking, or eating a very wet meal.

Adults:

Instant Carobel may be added to fluids and wet foods or can be eaten as a paste or prior to drinking.

In A Bottlefeed:

Prepare the infant milk to the manufacturer’s guidelines. Add Cow and Gate Instant Carobel 135g as indicated in the feeding guide. Shake well (for 30-60 secs). Leave for 3-4 minutes to thicken. Shake again and feed immediately. Do not heat in a microwave. Hot spots may occur and cause scalding.

As A Spoonfeed or Paste:

This method is appropriate for breastfed infants and may be preferred method for bottlefed infants. It is also suitable for first weaning foods that have too liquid consistency and for older children and adults. Add Instant Carobel 135g as indicated in the feeding guide. Stir well and leave for 3-4 minutes to thicken. Stir again and feed immediately, by spoon, prior to and during the feed or meal.
