Gaviscon Extra Oral Suspension is an of-white to cream suspension with a peppermint flavour. Each 10ml oral suspension contains 500mg Sodium Alginate, 213mg Sodium Bicarbonate and 325mg Calcium carbonate.
Gaviscon Extra is used for the treatment of acid related symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion, for example, following meals, or during pregnancy
Gaviscon Extra works in 2 ways: a combination of two antacids to neutralise excess stomach acid, and an alginate which forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents, keeping it away from the lining of the food pipe.
Suitable for:
Adults and children over 12 years. Can be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Children under 12 years: should only be given on medical advice
How to use:
Adults and children over 12 years: 10-20 ml after meals and at bedtime. Read the package leaflet before use.
Warnings and precautions:
This product is high in sodium. Consult your doctor if you are over 40 years and have never suffered with heartburn and acid indigestion before. If symptoms persist after 7 days, please consult your doctor. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
