The Kara Rapid Home Iron Deficiency Test works by measuring the levels of ferritin, a protein that stores iron in your body.

The test involves drawing a few drops of blood which are extracted via a small finger prick device. The blood is collected and is then inserted into the test cassette, one drop of the liquid buffer is added, and the results are read after 5 minutes.

The test measures the amount of ferritin in your blood, and if the levels are low, it may indicate a possible iron deficiency.

If you have symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, and pale skin, those who have risk factors for iron deficiency such as women who are pregnant, individuals with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, and those who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet and for individuals who are suspected to have iron deficiency anaemia.
